Mercedes ‘vigilant’ with hot weather forecast for German GP

Mercedes remains “vigilant” heading into the German Grand Prix according to Formula 1 team boss Toto Wolff, with hot temperatures forecast throughout the weekend. Temperatures could reach as high as 40c this weekend in Hockenheim, with hot weather proving Mercedes’ Achilles’ Heel so far this season. Having won the opening eight events of 2019, the German manufacturer struggled amid unusually high temperatures during the Austrian Grand Prix and suffered its first defeat of the year.
