Pierre Gasly 'happy' with weekends performance so far

Pierre Gasly has taken a huge step forward in terms of silencing his critics. The Red Bull driver topped the timesheet in FP1 and has had a strong weekend, starting tomorrows race in 5th position. The Frenchman hopes that his race pace is competitive and that for the first time this season he can push for a podium finish.   "We had some good pace on Friday and also in FP3," Gasly said to the Official F1 Website after qualifying. "We know that in qualifying Mercedes and Ferrari usually turn up their engine which makes things a bit harder for us.
