What we learned from Friday at the British Grand Prix

Mercedes were back at the top of the timesheets by the end of Friday at the British Grand Prix, but it was Valtteri Bottas rather than home favourite Lewis Hamilton who took the honours. After a chastening Austria weekend, by the Silver Arrows' lofty standards, they resumed familiar territory at Silverstone.
