Alonso unhurt in high speed Indy 500 practice crash

Fernando Alonso was unhurt after he crashed heavily into the wall during the second day of free practice for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500. The Spaniard was chasing Graham Rahal into Turn 3, upon which his McLaren entered Dallara #66 appeared to understeer and as a result slapped the outside wall hard, bouncing off it, spinning over the grass, tagging the inside wall before spearing against the outside wall of Turn 4. The car suffered serious damage while but fortunately, the Spaniard walked away unscathed. He wrote on his social media, 'Mistake from my side underestimating the grip in T3 today. I’m sorry for the team and the guys that have to work a lot now. Lesson learned....
