Giovinazzi handed Spanish GP grid penalty after gearbox change

Antonio Giovinazzi has received a five-place grid penalty after Alfa Romeo changed the gearbox on his car ahead of today's Spanish Grand Prix. Giovinazzi qualified 18th for Alfa Romeo on Saturday, missing out on a Q2 spot by four-tenths of a second, but was hit with the penalty after the team opted to make the change in the lead-up to the start of Sunday's race. Despite the penalty, Giovinazzi will still start the race from P18 as a result of Nico Hulkenberg's pit lane start and George Russell's five-place grid drop, also for a gearbox change.
