Kvyat: Stewards agree the penalty was ‘harsh'

Daniil Kvyat claims the Chinese Grand Prix stewards agree that the penalty imposed on him for his first lap crash with both McLarens was 'quite harsh'. The Torpedo returned to Formula 1 action on Sunday as Kvyat hit both Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris at the start of the Chinese Grand Prix. The Toro Rosso driver was handed a drive-through penalty for the incident, which he was feels was unfair. 'This was, I think, a normal lap one incident – one car coming from off the track, and one car being sandwiched, and me leaving space enough for one car certainly,' he told Autosport.
