Alonso: ‘No regrets' about leaving F1 racing behind after Tuesday test

Bahrain – McLaren's Fernando Alonso drove the MCL34 during the in-season test at Bahrain's Sakhir International Circuit on Tuesday. Alonso, who is officially on a sabbatical from Formula 1 this year, arrived in Bahrain after completing a two day Toyota Gazoo Hilux Dakar test in South Africa. Preparing for his Indy 500 attempt in May, the two time F1 World Champion has been enjoying his time away from the Formula 1 paddock as he tries out other forms of motorsport. However, with McLaren seemingly starting to find their feet this year, he agreed to carry out a tyre test on behalf of Pirelli, driving a second McLaren MCL34 alongside the team's official test entry.
