Masi continues as F1 race director in Bahrain

Michael Masi Michael Masi has been named as Formula 1 race director again for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix in the wake of the death of Charlie Whiting. Masi was a late call-up to the position as a result of Whiting’s passing a day before the start of Round 1 in Australia, although he was already set to be deputy race director at a third of F1 rounds this year. Colin Haywood has been named as deputy race director at the Bahrain International Circuit while the role of permanent starter, which Masi also held at Albert Park, now goes to Christian Bryll.
