Verstappen hopeful of closer racing in Bahrain

Max Verstappen is hoping for a better show in Bahrain with closer racing after the opening race of the season was won by 20 seconds. The Red Bull driver finished an impressive third in Melbourne, earning Honda its first podium since 2008 and first since its return to the sport in 2015, but was unable to seriously challenge Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton for second. Verstappen outlined the challenges the drivers would face in the Red Bull preview, adding that he was hopeful that the circuit layout would lend itself to producing a closer race than in Melbourne.
