Formula 1 suffers $68M loss in 2018 despite revenue increase
The Formula One Group grew its revenue in 2018 according to its financial report released on Thursday, but increased expenditures led to an overall loss for the second year in a row. The sport enjoyed a $44 million boost in revenue for the 2018 calendar year, F1 bringing in a total of $1,827m. However, only $6m of the increase was produced by "primary F1 revenue", or revenue derived from race promotion fees, broadcasting fees, advertising and sponsorship fees. The remaining $38m in additional revenue came from various sources such as "logistics revenue, digital media and TV production related revenue, increased revenue from various fan engagement activities and higher spare...
