Hulkenberg: Comparing Renault power units ‘unfair'

Nico Hulkenberg believes that whilst the Renault power unit is a step forward from last season, it is ‘unfair' to judge it's performance against last year's unit. The pace of Formula One is widely expected to have increased over winter, despite a new waves of regulations which were widely expected to slow the cars down. For 2019, Formula One cars have bigger front and rear wings, designed to address the issue of cars being able to race closely together, with a side-effect being an increase in aerodynamic drag.
