Three McLaren team members treated after garage fire

Three McLaren team members were taken to the medical centre for treatment after a small fire broke out in its garage during a filming day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Friday. McLaren – along with Racing Point and Williams – were present at the Spanish Grand Prix venue on the first of four days in-between the two pre-season tests. Formula 1 teams are permitted two filming days per season in which running is restricted to 100km, with use of Pirelli’s prototype tyres mandatory. “There was a small fire in the garage during the team’s private filming day,” a team spokesperson confirmed. “The fire was quickly extinguished by the team, and...
