Pirelli confirm tyre performance differences for test one

Formula One tyre suppliers Pirelli have revealed the performance differences between the five compounds that have been used so far in pre-season testing. The firm, who have recently signed an extension to their supply deal until 2023, have confirmed the deltas in lap time due to the different compounds in Barcelona. For 2019, Pirelli have condensed their tyre range to five compounds, which have been allocated the names C1 through to C5, with C1 being the hardest and C5 being the softest. Teams have done the majority of their running on the C2, C3 and C4 compounds, with only a couple of drivers attempting flying laps on the C5 tyre. The C1 has seldom been used, which was due to the...
