Giovinazzi's airport run ensured Raikkonen & Alfa completed shakedown

An airport dash from Antonio Giovinazzi was needed to ensure the Alfa Romeo team were able to get Kimi Raikkonen on track for the team's shakedown filming day on Thursday. Alfa Romeo conducted a shakedown of their new C39 car at Fiorano on Thursday. Born from the Sauber team, Alfa's first on-track day of 2019 was put in jeopardy when an essential part that was needed to get the car put together hadn't arrived. With Kimi Raikkonen sitting in the car and working with the mechanics to prepare for the filming day, teammate Antonio Giovinazzi took his company Alfa to leg it to the airport and pick up the missing part.
