McLaren confirms Seidl's start date

McLaren has today confirmed that Andreas Seidl, recently appointed as Managing Director, McLaren F1, will begin work on 1 May 2019. 'We're delighted that Andreas is able to join the team on 1 May,' said Zak Brawn. 'This enables us to continue the momentum of our recovery plan and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to McLaren.' Though this means the German's first race as MD will be the season opener in Spain, he is almost certain to attend a race or two before then, albeit as a 'guest' of the Woking team. Seidl's appointment at Woking marks a return to F1 for the German, who worked at BMW Motorsport from 2000 to 2006, then at BMW Sauber as head of track operations until 2009. He...
