Ricciardo: "Many drivers tended to die of hunger"

Daniel Ricciardo believes all of the F1 drivers will be able to enjoy their food more following the minimum weight rule change which is set to also affect how drivers train. Drivers were forced to get to the minimum weight of 734kg which often meant drivers went hungry over race weekends which was a big issue for bigger drivers. The FIA have now changed the current rule to allow for a bit more snacking, the rule is: the driver and seat must weigh at least 80kg, in the case of failing to make the weight a ballast will be added to the vehicle.
