Sainz: Hulkenberg one of the best on the grid

Carlos Sainz claims his former teammate Nico Hulkenberg would win 'straight away' with a team at the top of the Formula 1 grid. The Spaniard partnered Hulkenberg at Renault for the 2018 season, having joined at the back-end of 2017, before making the switch to McLaren ahead of the new campaign. Hulkenberg has long been labelled as one of the most underrated drivers in the sport – backed up by his ‘best of the rest' P7 finish in the 2018 Drivers' Championship. The German holds a Formula 1 record of 156 grand prix starts without a podium, but Sainz believes that would quickly change if he was in a car competing for race wins.
