Carlos Ghosn resigns as Renault CEO amid 'misconduct' charges

The chairman of Renault, and the man who gave the approval for the car giant to return to F1, Carlos Ghosn, has officially stepped down from his role. Ghosn, who was instrumental in turning around the fortunes of car manufacturers Renault and Nissan, oversaw the creation of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi Alliance, the second-biggest car manufacturer behind the Volkswagen Group. However, he and senior executive Greg Kelly are at the centre of a misconduct scandal, where both men are accused of under-reporting their earnings by tens of millions of pounds, according to an internal investigation by Nissan.
