2019 changes cost a "few seconds of lap time" in simulations

Formula 1's official 2019 rule changes took "a few seconds of lap time", resulting in "the worst possible outcome" with Racing Point completing its first lap simulations of the year. Alterations for next season include simplified front and rear wing regulations, in an attempt to improve the on-track action with it essentially making it easier to follow cars and therefore increase the opportunity to overtake.
