Bottas sure 2018 better than 2017 despite no wins

Valtteri Bottas says a string of "strange races" masked his true performance over a winless 2018 campaign that the Mercedes man insists was not as bad as appears on the surface. Bottas was just the third driver in the 21st Century to go winless across a campaign in a championship-winning car. Bottas ended 2018 a huge 161 points behind teammate and world champion Lewis Hamilton – a winner of 11 grands prix as Mercedes took a fifth consecutive constructors' crown.
