SMP Racing pulled Sergey Sirotkin from Williams' over 'lack of progress'

Sergey Sirotkin's main financial backers SMP Racing decided to pull the Russian driver away from Williams citing the team's lack of progress since the beginning of the season. Sirotkin posted on social media he would not have a seat in F1 after Williams announced on Thursday Robert Kubica would line up alongside George Russell for the 2019 season. The 23-year old has spent the 2018 season with the Grove-based outfit experiencing a torrid season of results in the dogged FW41, his best result came at Monza with a 10th place, which came after the exclusion of Haas' Romain Grosjean.
