F1 drops plans for potential 2019 points changes

Formula 1 will not alter its points system for the 2019 season, Race Director Charlie Whiting has confirmed. Formula 1 chief Ross Brawn revealed earlier in the year that leading figures were mulling over whether to tweak the current system, as part of a series of regulation revisions. The championship currently awards 25 points for a win, 18 for second and 15 for third, with all of the top 10 receiving points.
