Schumacher ends Ferrari drought with Suzuka win - F1 On This Day

Michael Schumacher took a huge leap on his path to becoming a Formula 1 icon on this day 18 years ago as victory at the Japanese Grand Prix was enough to hold off Mika Hakkinen and see him crowned world champion for the third time and first with Ferrari, who secured a drivers' title for the first time in 21 years in the process.
