Hamilton: Ferrari have taken a step back

While Ferrari fumbled Mercedes dominated qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton taking his 80th career pole and teammate Valtteri Bottas popping up in second on the timesheets at the end of a dramatic session at a tricky Suzuka on Saturday. By the time the dust had settled (make that rain) standing tallest was world champion elect Hamilton, again inflicting maximum damage while his title rival Sebastian Vettel tripped up on a day in which Ferrari seriously messed up their strategy with a huge gamble in Q3.
