Sebastian Vettel knew that the opening lap of the Russian Grand Prix could be crucial to his hopes of eating into Lewis Hamilton's championship lead. The Ferrari made a phenomenal start from P3 on the grid - last year's winning starting slot - as he looked to make inroads.
