Grosjean on ‘very thin ice' with penalty points

Romain Grosjean's team boss Guenther Steiner summed up his penalty points situation, conceding his driver is on 'very thin ice.' Grosjean was slapped with two points last time out in Singapore for ignoring blue flags in what F1 race director Charlie Whiting called the the 'worst case' he had seen in years. That put the Haas driver, who on Friday was confirmed by the team for next season, onto nine points with 12 points in a rolling 12 month period earning the driver a one-race ban. 'He should be very careful but I think he knows that,' Haas team boss Steiner said. 'We are on very thin ice at the moment with that.'
