Ericsson encouraged by Leclerc move

Marcus Ericsson has taken positives from his rivalry with team mate Charles Leclerc, who has been promoted to Ferrari for next year, as the Swede looks to get a drive for the 2019 season. Ericsson’s future is not yet confirmed, although it seems like Sauber will keep him on as a team mate for the incoming Kimi Raikkonen for next season. Ericsson did have a spell of not scoring points for 49 races before his ninth place in Bahrain this year. He has scored three points finishes in the last seven races, whereas the Ferrari-bound Leclerc has only managed to reach the top ten twice.
