F1 driver standings: Hamilton establishes commanding lead
A low-key Singapore Grand Prix proved to be just the tonic for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, with the Brit's straightforward victory from pole position - his 44th triumph from the front of the grid - moving both him and his team into a commanding position. Hamilton now has a 40-point gap over rival Sebastian Vettel, who was left frustrated by Ferrari's unorthodox performance in terms of team strategy and had to settle for third. Mercedes meanwhile opened up a 25-point advantage over Ferrari in the constructor's championship.
