Alonso: The IndyCar on a road course is something special
Fernando Alonso got his second taste of an IndyCar but this time not in oval-spec but rather in road course trim at Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park, in the United States on Wednesday. The Mclaren driver, who will quit Formula 1 next year, drove the Carloz Munoz Dallara DW12-Honda using universal aero kit. Rain came down in the morning and the Spaniard posted times in the dry afternoon session that were reportedly a few tenths shy of Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden during the race weekend at the venue in April. Alonso said afterwards, 'It was a good day, a fun day. I love to test new cars and to test the IndyCar on a road course is something special. I’ve been lucky enough to test it...
