Whiting wants talks with Verstappen following Monza penalty
FIA race director Charlie Whiting wants to have a talk with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen following his controversial penalty he was given at the end of the Italian Grand Prix. Verstappen was involved in an intense battle with Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas before making contact with him in lap 44. Bottas claimed that Verstappen didn't leave enough room for the Finn on the outside, who then made contact with the Red Bull's left rear as a result. The race stewards made the decision and agreed with the Mercedes man, and Verstappen was handed a five second penalty which gifted Bottas a podium finish and put the Dutchman all the way down to fifth, with Sebastian Vettel the lucky man....
