Markelov surprise candidate for potential Williams seat

Russian driver Artem Markelov has emerged as a surprise candidate for a potential Williams race seat that may see him promoted from F2 before the end of the season. Talks that Lance Stroll could join Racing Point Force India at Monza have been rampant which would, of course, leave a seat at Williams open. Williams' driver situation seems to be evolving by the day, rumours that Robert Kubica could make a dramatic return to Formula One with the team would be the story most fans would want to come true, however the experienced Formula 2 driver in Markelov could be the one who gets the call to replace Stroll should he move.
