Alonso stripped of Silverstone win

Fernando Alonso's 100 per cent record in the World Endurance Championship came to an end at the Six Hours of Silverstone after his Toyota team was disqualified from the race. Alonso's #8 car - co-driven by Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi had taken the chequered flag first in Sunday's race, but was stripped of the win after post-race scrutineering. The Toyota cars finished four laps ahead of Rebellion's two cars, but the FIA reported they "were found to not comply with the technical regulations pertaining to the skid block under each car". It handed victory to the #3 Rebellion R13-Gibson driven by Gustavo Menezes, Thomas Laurent and Mathias Beche, with the #1 sister car taking...
