Alonso set for IndyCar road course test next month
Fernando Alonso will quit Formula 1 at the end of this season, but time is running out fast for the Spaniard, or McLaren for that matter, to secure a competitive IndyCar programme for next season. Racer report: 'Alonso is expected to test a Honda-powered Andretti Autosport Dallara DW12 early next month to gauge his interest in the 2018 IndyCar package on a road course.' The report adds that the first test is likely to take place after the Portland Grand Prix round of the Indycar series on 2 September. Alonso is expected to do a day or two at Barber Motorsports Park at the wheel of the Andretti Autosport Dallara DW12. Neither party has confirmed the test yet. According to Racer sources...
