Sainz: Battles with Alonso are like "title fights"

Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso have crossed paths numerous times on track this season. The pair often competes for the same position, and Sainz refers to this as a title fight. Since Alonso has been at McLaren, he is yet to score a podium. Sainz said this doesn't reflect the ability of Alonso. However, he says it doesn't prevent damage to his reputation. "Maybe he deserves better numbers and more titles. But I think he gets enough respect and admiration from all F1 drivers and team bosses," Sainz told motorsport.
