Williams will buy 2019 gearbox from Mercedes

Next season, Williams will be racing with a Mercedes gearbox as signals continue to grow stronger that they will become a Mercedes ‘b’ team. Williams are struggling this season, lying bottom of the constructors' championship picking up just four points. This deal could be the first sign of a Williams resurgence as the British team look to bounce back in 2019. If a ‘b’ team deal was struck between the two, their relationship will be very similar to Sauber/Ferrari and Toro Rosso/Red Bull.  The Williams car was fitted with a new front wing that performed exactly how the engineers wanted it to in Germany.
