Hartley out of British GP qualifying after practice crash
Brendon Hartley will take no part in Formula 1 qualifying for the British Grand Prix following his high-speed crash during final practice at Silverstone on Saturday morning, caused by a suspension failure. Hartley suffered a failure on the front-left wheel of his car at the end of the Wellington Straight, causing his car to run straight on at Brooklands, pitching into the barrier at high speed after hitting the gravel. The New Zealander was taken to the medical centre for a precautionary check, and while he was declared fit by the doctors, the same could not be said of his car which required significant repairs following the shunt.
