Max Verstappen revels in 'unexpected' F1 victory at Austrian GP

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen revelled in an “unexpected” victory at Formula 1’s Austrian Grand Prix as he triumphed for the first time in 2018. Verstappen lined up from fourth on the grid but moved into third on a frantic opening lap as he overhauled Kimi Raikkonen through Turn 6. Valtteri Bottas’ exit promoted Verstappen to second and he opted to pit under the Virtual Safety Car period caused by the Finn’s stoppage, while leader Lewis Hamilton stayed out.
