Sainz points finish saved by late VSC

Carlos Sainz says his eight place finish was only possible thanks to a late virtual safety car during the French Grand Prix. Sainz had begun very well, even running in P3 after the chaotic start but a loss of power late on almost cost him a points finish. After the race, Sainz told Sky Sports F1 that his finish was down to the virtual safety car being called late on in the race to cover Stroll's Williams. "I owe that… it saved us the points finish.
