Renault fined after French GP for Sainz pit lane speeding
Renault has been fined €600 after Carlos Sainz was caught speeding after his first and only stop of the race. Sainz had made a fantastic start and was running third in the early stages however the pace of the Renault compared to others meant he was quickly caught by his rivals. No time penalty was given out to the Spaniard and he came home to finish in 8th position. Teammate Nico Hulkenberg finished one place behind in 9th meaning it was a double-points finish for Renault on home soil.
