Marcus Ericsson out of FP2 after crash, fire

Marcus Ericsson will not participate in the second practice session for the French Grand Prix in the wake of his accident earlier on Friday. Ericsson spun through on the entry to the double-right hander of Beausset and suffered a rear-right impact, after which a fire took hold. Ericsson was able to walk away from the wreckage uninjured. The accident, which occurred during the final few minutes of running, brought a premature halt to proceedings in a session that was topped by Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.
