Pirelli again skips step with Russia compound choices

Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has again skipped a step with its compound selections for the Russian Grand Prix. Pirelli has typically adopted a linear approach from its dry compound range but opted to miss the Supersoft at the Chinese Grand Prix, a move which led to varying tyre strategies. The move was well-received by drivers and future events in Germany, Hungary and Singapore will adopt such an approach. For the Russian Grand Prix at Sochi, the Hypersoft, Ultrasoft and Soft compounds will be available. As per usual, one set of Hypersofts must be put aside for use only in Q3, while either the Ultrasoft or Soft must be run for one stint of the race, assuming dry conditions prevail. For...
