Mercedes took risk with engines in Montreal

Mercedes ran their engines on full power in the Candian Grand Prix after being forced to delay the release of their updated engine. Mercedes are the only manufacturer that have ran with the same engine throughout 2018, following the postponement of their engine upgrade due to reliability issues. Montreal is notoriously a track where engines have to work very hard and the more power counts. Mercedes Chief Strategist James Vowles told Autosport.com that the engine made no difference on the race itself. "In terms of what happened in the race with Valtteri (Bottas) and Lewis (Hamilton), both of them drove the power unit as they didin the first race," Vowles said....
