Canadian Grand Prix: Starting Grid

Sebastian Vettel will begin the Canadian Grand Prix on pole for the fourth time as he looks to cut into Lewis Hamilton's lead at the top of the Formula 1 drivers' standings. Vettel has not tasted victory since his back-to-back victories in the opening two rounds of 2018. Valtteri Bottas lines up alongside Vettel on the front row after one of Saturday's most eye-catching performances, the Mercedes man outqualifying team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Only Michael Schumacher has a better record at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve than six-time pole-sitter and winner Hamilton, but the reigning champion starts fourth, behind the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.
