Ricciardo may escape grid penalty in Montreal
Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo could yet escape a Canadian Grand Prix grid penalty despite the team's technical chief Adrian Newey saying earlier in the week that the Australian would have one. Ricciardo told reporters on Thursday that while the MGU-K unit used at the previous race in Monaco had been destroyed, the team hoped one from earlier in the season remained usable. The MGU-K recovers the energy generated while braking and forms part of the Renault power unit.
