Mercedes DELAY engine upgrade until after Canadian GP

Mercedes won’t race in Canada with their new, upgraded engine because of reliability issues. Toto Wolff said yesterday how the team planned to bring in the upgrade at the perfect time.  The new Mercedes power unit will now be installed for the French Grand Prix in two weeks time following Sunday’s race. Customers Force India and Williams will also miss out on the upgrade.  A Mercedes spokesman said: “All Mercedes-powered cars will be running with PU1 for this weekend, too, before receiving new units in France.”  Renault and Honda have confirmed their upgrade introduction is still taking place in Montreal.
