Williams parts with head of aero Dirk de Beer

Williams continues to manage its crisis, parting ways today with its chief aerodynamicist Dirk de Beer just weeks after the departure from the team of chief designer Ed Wood. The Grove-based outfit has struggled to perform since the start of the season with an FW41 that has not lived up to expectations. Williams technical director Paddy Lowe recently revealed that the extent of the crisis had compelled the outfit to implement a recovery programme. Obviously, a restructuring of its key personnel is part of the team's plan and crisis management.
