Sainz: "Race went terribly from the start"

Carlos Sainz Junior has said that his team Renault got their tactics all wrong for the entire race, as the Spaniard finished in a disappointing tenth place. The Spaniard was critical of the team's decision to switch to ultra softs early-on in the race, after just fifteen laps. "The race went terribly from the start," he told Movistar. "It wasn't a good decision to come in at lap fifteen for ultra softs. "Whether I expected the tyres to wear down so quickly? "I did, but the rest apparently didn't."
