Ferrari's Simone Resta takes on Sauber technical director role

The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team has announced that Simona Resta has been appointed as the Swiss outfit's new technical director, following in the footsteps of Jorg Zander who left the team earlier this month. Resta joins Sauber from Ferrari where he held the position of Head of Vehicle Project Coordination. The Italian engineer will take over from the 1st of July 2018 and will report directly to team boss Frédéric Vasseur. Sauber's Pujolar has no doubts about Leclerc's true potential "Simone Resta has the best profile to take on the role of Technical Director," said Vasseur.
