Monaco showcase kicks off motorsports' busiest day

Formula 1 kicks things off with the Monaco Grand Prix on motorsports mega-Sunday, with its sparkling harbour and Champagne-swilling fans watching from huge yachts, it is the jewel in the sport's calendar while to the west in the United States fans will tuck into the legendary Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR's Charlotte 600. After a difficult start to his title defence, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has won the past two races and leads Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by 17 points.
