Monaco FP2: Ricciardo and Red Bull too good on day one

Daniel Ricciardo topped the timing screen in both the FP1 and FP2 on the first day of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, with teammate Max Verstappen a tenth down on his teammate as Red Bull threw down the gauntlet for their rivals to consider between today and qualifying on Saturday. The Australian was the only driver to dip below the 72 seconds zone with a best lap time of 1:11,841, which was a tenth up on Verstappen's effort in the 90-minutes afternoon session. The team's first FP1 and FP2 lockout this season. Half a second down on Ricciardo's top time was Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel in third, ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes.
